Computer machine thinks and acts as we tell them to do. We called it “code or programming”. And also Computers will be good at doing repetitive work and finding patterns from large data sets or tasks we tell them to do. There will be input from the computer machine and output from the computer machine. This is how a computer works. As you look at how the world works, It is a similar mechanism in every process in the world. Every input and output can be recorded as data and stored in a database bucket. Once we have a large data set in the database, we can start to look at the pattern from them and find meaning from them. There were several ways of understanding and researching about the world but recently computer technology has flourished and has high capabilities for computing large data sets. Now we have a whole new tool to look at how the world works.
Find patterns from a large dataset
We are living in an era of tremendous data around us. Without understanding or mining meaning from it, data is just a digital digit that is consuming storage on a computer. Using a machine learning algorithm, now we can see statistical patterns on a dataset that tells us about a whole new story. I believe these stories will transform how we live and work in the world. That is why I deeply focus on and dream about data-driven world. The starting point of every project in sonosQ is data. We collect, analyze find insight, and apply it to business strategy. Because we believe data in every business strategy and model is a single source of truth that generates strategic value.
We need an algorithmic process to define business
I think we need algorithmic processes to define business models and processes to make an impact on the world by using data-driven design processes. Design is all about understanding people in the world. We can ask ourselves how should we understand our users in some way. That answer is always on data from users. This dataset can be quantitative or qualitative aspect from the dataset. We need them all to fully understand about user’s behaviors, desires, and motivation to act. With a full understanding of user behavior, we can redesign business, service software, etc using data and design-driven process.
